Living a Healthy Life Style


Start early, what you do now affects your future health

Many people start to live a healthy life when they have already been diagnosed with a disease. It is easy to not exercise and eat unhealthy food, everybody does that. The question you should ask yourself is the following: is my health more important, if so, should I start dedicating my time to bettering myself, my health, and living a higher quality of life before it can be too late?

Exercises helps prevents or delays almost everything

Exercise is currently the number one recommendation physicians make for any type of disease before any other measures are taken. It has been proven not only to improve your mood and make you feel happier, it decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease by making your arteries more elastic and increasing blood flow to your heart, it decreases the amount of body fat by lowering your cholesterol levels and enhancing your overall appearance. Exercise increases your muscle mass making your bones stronger and capable of resisting falls and other forces. Exercise helps patients that are pre diabetic and diabetic by allowing glucose to be taken up by the cells easier, therefore lowering blood glucose levels. Exercise increases your metabolism, and specially those who are trying to loose weight are more capable of burning fat and building muscle.

Your body is your temple

Make time to make your body healthy and do everything to take care of the body who takes care of your soul every single day of your life, Think of it this way, you clean your room everyday or do your bed to make sure you sleep comfortable and clean. The same way, your body needs exercise to stay sane and healthy to be able to provide you with what it needs for all of the years of your life. Nurture your body with nutritious food, with exercise, with enough rest, and take care of it as if it was your temple.

Eat healthy foods

many of us think eating healthy means eating fruits and vegetables and salads for lunch and dinner. This is completely wrong and in fact having a balance diet is a healthy diet. What this means is eating a diet that incorporates protein, carbohydrates, and fats is what a healthy diet is. Avoid eating packaged foods such as : chips, cookies, microwavable meals, cans of food, things that come in a package normally contain tons of sodium, saturated fats and lots of sugar. Avoid eating fried foods and eating out, try to limit 1 cheat meal per week. Instead purchase foods that are more natural and are low or have no saturated fat. These can include, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, chicken and things that you can incorporate in normal daily meals. Avoid drinking juices and soda, these have a high content of sugar and tons of calories you do not want. Instead drink water if your goal is to be healthy and loose weight. Incorporate healthy snacks such as protein shakes, granola bars high in protein, almonds, greek yogurts, and others. Switch your normal carbohydrates such as white rice and potatoes for brown rice, sweet potatoes and other vegetables. These carbs are high in fiber which allow you to feel more full and are healthier, have lower calories, and are healthier for your heart. Avoid eating fruits high in sugar late at night instead eat these early in the morning. This high sugar can turn into fat and instead of giving you energy it will become fat storage.

Stay away from bad habits

Some people do not realize that alcohol has 7 calories/ gram. Lowering your alcohol content or drinking no alcohol has significant benefits in your health. If your goal is to loose weight, decreasing the amount of alcohol will help you accomplish this easier. You can also prevent many different disease such as liver disease and having an overall better health. Smoking is another habit you should stay away from. This causes your arteries to get clogged up and stiffen increasing your chances of developing cardiovascular disease, and developing different types of cancers. Other habits you should be aware of is being around sedentary people. If you hang out around people who all they want to do is, eat bad, drink alcohol, be lazy, and live a crazy life, you are more likely to think this lifestyle is okay and stick to it as well. Be around people who want to have a similar lifestyle as yours, who want to better themselves, you have dreams, and work hard to achieve them.

Find something you love to do

the most important thing for you to stay active is to find something you are passionate about and that you truly enjoy doing. This can be swimming, going outside for a run, roller skating, going to the gym, attending a spinning class. Try different types of activities and find those that you enjoy most and try to stay consistent with that activity. This improves your participation and it increases your commitment to staying fit.
